Use TX and RX pin for other module

Post by mariana » Tue Nov 18, 2014 11:21 am

I'm using UPiS Advanced with Raspberry B+.
It runs fine by now. UPiS and B+ are connected by a header which I made by myself.

Now I want to add a gps module to B+ which need TX and RX pin.
But they are being used by UPiS.
Well I want to connect the gps module directly to the B+ not to the UPiS.
Is it possible to do that?

B+ have 40 pins but only one TX and RX,,,,

I any case you will need an update for the B+ of the firmware. That is out of question. We are working on it and very soon we will release it. We just overloaded with the new production, and still small company.

This PINs can be used easy by your add-on, just make a proper set-up of the jumpers, that is it. If you are planning to use it via top placed board, just remove the jumpers from the switching matrix. Then you will release the RPi RS232 for the add-on board on top.

Then handling of the UPiS if needed could be done via PICo interface.

So, the answer to your question is YES, it is possible !
