Are there any tricks to checking for problems with the RTC? I have the necessary entry in /boot/config.txt to set the dtoverlay for ds1307 but when I check the dmesg after a reboot, I see a whole slew of
errors followed by a single
Code: Select all
rtc-ds1307: probe of 1-0068 failed with error -5
I haven't powered up this box in a while and first did a full software and firmware update on my a+ before checking the status of the pico, when I noticed the hwclock set line in rc.local was throwing an error that it couldn't find a known method to access the clock.

Your problem with RTC is most probably related to the i2c communication issues between the raspberry pi and the ups_pico module that surfaced when the kernel version was bumped from 4.4.50 yo 4.9.xx. It will hopefully be resolved as soon as the new firmware for the ups_pico HV1.0 and HV1.1 modules will be released.
