Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

Yes I did, also today when I booted again and executed the i2cget function he returned 0xff. After I executed the i2cset function I got the 0x14 as result. Interesting. You're correct, that extra code in rc.local doesn't seem to work for some reason. I suppose I didn't really test it thoroughly. OK...

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

2. Today I checked the rc.local again and the lines are added. Then I checked the current batime with the i2cget function and it says: 0xff! So the rc.local isn't called I think? Did you reboot after modifying rc.local? rc.local only runs at boot. Any changes you made to it would be reflected on th...

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

Thanks again ktb!! I also did a small test this evening (I didn't had more time): 1. Yesterday I added those lines to rc.local and the FSSD started after 15-20 minutes 2. Today I checked the rc.local again and the lines are added. Then I checked the current batime with the i2cget function and it say...

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

So, I tested it a little bit. The 30-second FSSD appears to work fine for me using the 300mAh battery. If the reason you think it's not shutting down properly is that you aren't seeing the animated Xbian shutdown screen, then you may not be looking at the right indicators. The only time I see the a...

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

By adding those line to the rc.local the FSSD should start after 30 seconds? It should. I haven't really tested that on Xbian. Perhaps Xbian requires some additional time to shutdown when it's playing a movie/music or something. Maybe adjusting FSSD_tout would help. I did give you instructions for ...

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

Thanks ktb I will look into it when I have a good OS. Tonight I did some testing with the following results: 3000mAh battery - First I add the lines to the rc.local file, I started a movie for about 20 minutes and then I pulled out the power cable: Pi was down directly :( - I copied the image again ...

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

Okay that's a pretty big advantage :).

Tonight I will add those lines to the rc.local file. I also have to do a firmware upgrade.

Really thanks for your help and I let you know if everything works ok now :)

EDIT
How did you create an image of 2gb? While the micro SD cards are 1gb, 4gb or bigger?

Re: Safe Shutdown script doesn't work

Hi KTB,

What is the difference with adding those lines to the rc.local and this commando:
"sudo i2cset -y 1 0x6b 0x09 0x14"?

Thanks!
